Funding
SNAICC was first funded by the Federal Department of Social Security a recurrent grant November 1983.
SNAICC gratefully acknowledges the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) for its secretariat funding under its Parenting Appropriation. Since June 2009 FaHCSIA has also funded the SNAICC Resource Service (SRS).
In 2010 The Department of Education, Employment and Workforce Relations provided additional secretariat funding for three years from the Child Care Service Support Program.
The SRS was first funded as the National Resource Services for the period 2005-2009 as an Early Childhood – Invest to Grow initiative by the Australian Government under the Stronger Families and Communities Strategy. At the Melbourne launch of the 2008 National Aboriginal and Islander Children's Day on 4 August, Federal Indigenous Affairs Minister the Hon. Jenny Macklin, MP announced a further $3 million funding for SNAICC to continue the SNAICC Resource Service funding through FaHCSIA for the period 2009 to June 2011.
SNAICC also receives funds through membership fees and subscriptions and sale of resources, from consultancy services to governments and other bodies, and through one-off projects.
